Our research emphasises reducing complications associated with implanted medical devices, surgical procedures, and acute injuries. We develop technologies spanning interventional oncology, wound closure, ophthalmology, and the biomaterials used in medical implants.

A device already sits at the site of treatment. Using it as the delivery vehicle concentrates therapy there and limits systemic exposure.

A legacy of drug elution

Work on paclitaxel-coated medical devices helped establish the concept of drug-eluting devices in cardiovascular medicine and influenced later generations of combination medical technologies. That precedent still shapes how we evaluate every new programme.
